Prof. Dr. Marc Ringel
Prof. Dr. Marc Ringel is Director of the European Chair
for Sustainable Development and Climate Transitions at Sciences Po, Paris, France. He reads
energy policy, energy efficiency and environmental economics as full professor at Nuertingen
Geislingen University, Germany and is visiting fellow with the University of Brussels (Vrije
Universiteit Brussel), Belgium. As former official with the Directorate General Energy of
the European Commission and with the German Federal Ministry of Economics and Energy he
continues to be deeply involved in the development and economic assessment of national and
European energy efficiency policy frameworks. He supports policy-oriented research for
several national energy action plans and key strategic EU policy actions. Marc holds a
master’s in economics from Mainz University and Université d’Angers, France. His PhD thesis
focussed on energy policy measures to combat climate change, his habilitation thesis on
sustainability management in the public sector.

Ms. Arancha González
Ms. Arancha González is the third Dean of PSIA at
Sciences Po and first woman to lead the world's third school for Politics and
International Studies. Prior to joining PSIA, Ms González served as Spain’s Minister of
Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation (2020-2021). She previously was
Assistant-Secretary-General of the United Nations and Executive Director of the
International Trade Centre (2013-2020). Between 2005 and 2013 she served as Chief of Staff
to the Director-General of the World Trade Organization, Pascal Lamy. Before that she held
senior positions at the European Commission in the areas of international trade and
development. Ms González started her career as lawyer in the private sector. Ms González has
been a member of PSIA's Strategic Committee since 2017. A Spanish national, Ms González
holds a degree in law from the University of Navarra and a Postgraduate Degree in European
Law from the University Carlos III of Madrid.
Prof. Anthony Elliot
Prof. Anthony Elliott is Dean of External
Engagement of the University of South Australia. Anthony writes about identity,
society, globalization, AI and the digital revolution. His research has had a
lasting impact upon social theory and sociology worldwide. He is the author and
editor of over 40 books, which have been translated or are forthcoming in over 18
languages. His recent books include The Culture of AI, Identity Troubles and
Reinvention. Professor Elliott is Dean of External Engagement at the
University of South Australia (UniSA), where he is based in the Research and
Enterprise Portfolio in Chancellery. He is also Executive Director of the Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence at UniSA, and
Research Professor of Sociology in UniSA: Justice and Society. He is Super-Global
Professor of Sociology (Visiting) at Keio University, Japan, and Visiting Professor
of Sociology at UCD, Ireland. Professor Elliott is a Fellow of the Academy of the
Social Sciences in the United Kingdom, the Academy of the Social Sciences in
Australia, a Fellow of the Cambridge Commonwealth Society, and a Senior Member of
King’s College, Cambridge.
Keynote: Sufficiency in IPCC 2022 Report on Climate
Mitigation
Dr. Yamina Saheb
Dr. Yamina Saheb is a lecturer and researcher at
Sciences Po (Paris), a lead author of the 2022 IPCC report on climate change mitigation and
a Senior fellow at OpenExp. Prior to this position, Yamina was a Senior Fellow Researcher at
the University of Münster and previously a Senior Researcher at the University of Lausanne.
In 2018, Yamina was the head of energy efficiency unit at the Energy Charter Secretariat.
Before that, she was a Policy and Scientific Officer at the Renewables and Energy Efficiency
Unit at the Institute of Energy and Transport of the Joint Research Centre (JRC) of the
European Commission (EC). She also worked as senior buildings energy efficiency policy
analyst at the IEA. Yamina holds a Ph.D. in Energy Engineering, master’s degrees on
Landscape Architecture and Development Economics and an Engineering degree in Building
technologies.
